Work
- Worked with most fiddlers in LA music and been a sideman with many locale Cajun/Creole bands.
- Toured with a variety of bands since 1975 and played jazz guitar (standards) in Austin, TX from ‘78 through ‘85 and leader of ( ‘88-’92) “D’Jalma Garnier’s French Band”.
- Ten years with Cajun band Filé and past year been a founding member of “The Lucky PLayboys” playing Cajun, Creole, Zydeco, and Swamp Pop.
- I have taught at Augusta Heritage and June “03 was teacher/musical director in summer camp for 10 - 17 year olds “A Midsummer Nights Dream” (Amy Waguespac dir.)
Awards
- Nominated for Canray Fontenot Award 2001 by LA’s own Creole INC. and was asked to give away the
2003 Canray Fontenot Award.
Education
- Studied with NEA National Heritage Award winner Canray Fontenot (through Texas Folklife Grant)
- Studied Arr. and Comp. with Lyle ‘Spud’ Murphy for three years after a year at UCLA Music School.
- studying for Bachelors in Music Media at ULL. (jz. gt. as required instr. in several jazz combos) and have played fd., transcribed, and helped manage Cajun/Creole Ensemble under Mike Blaney Head of String Dept.
Family
- Lived in Wroclaw, Poland (my wife was a Fulbright lecturer), 2004.
- From the jazz family of the 7th Ward New Orleans; I know how to make budgets work.
