A release party for the DVD “From La La to Zydeco – Creole and Zydeco Music From Louisiana” took place on Saturday, October 29 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Clifton Chenier Center (Town Hall - Building C), located at 220 West Willow Street, in Lafayette, LA. Lil’ Nathan Williams and the Zydeco Big Timers performed, and highlights from the DVD were previewed by Robert Willey. Karl Fontenot talked about how the videotapes came about, Paul Scott extrapolated the title from "From La La to Zydeco" to "From La La to lots of things". Last, but not least, Nick Spitzer talked Creole culture and the value of such work.
The compilation is published by the Center for Louisiana Studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, for donation to libraries and cultural organizations throughout the state. Funding was originally provided by the Acadiana Arts Council.
